Best Online Green Building Resources

The amount of resources on the internet can be a little overwhelming, right?  It takes a lot of time to sift through it all, verify that it is trustworthy information, and then make an informed decision.  It’s nice to know that there are some websites you can visit that are guaranteed to have reliable, trustworthy information.  Below are a few of my favorite online healthy living and green building resources.  These are the sites I visit to find the expert, trustworthy advice I need to make informed design and product decisions.

Leo Wants You to Live Well

My obsession with wellness focused design began in early 2016 when I was first introduced to the WELL Building Standard.  I was at a sustainable design conference and kept hearing the word ‘Well’ in every workshop I attended.  I finally sat in on a course that covered the fundamentals of the WELL Building Standard, and I felt as if I just entered a whole new world of impactful design.  A guideline for designing buildings that promote health, energy and longer living?!  I was sold.

Why Wellness?

Think about how you spent your day yesterday.  If you are like most Americans, you woke up, took some time getting ready for work, walked into your garage, drove to work, sat/stood/walked at your desk for 8-10 hours, possibly stepping outdoors for a 10 or 20 minute break for lunch, got back in your car at the end of the day, drove to the gym (good for you!), then drove home, cooked dinner, ate, cleaned up, sank into the couch for a few minutes if you were lucky, and then went to bed.  Does that sound like a typical day for you?  How much time did you get to be outdoors?
